Optiver has numerous competitors, like IMC, Jane Street, Flow Traders, Citadel, etc. The work-life balance of IMC is better, and the hours are probably around 9 - 6 or maybe even a bit shorter, and Optiver would likely be a bit more like 8-6 pretty consistently. IMC is more trader focused and HRT is more programming focused. It will at least give you an idea of how they are doing the past few years, any big changes in leadership or direction, approximate bonuses paid, what direction the business is going, how much they are hiring and in what areas, etc. Comp is a joke at SIG Dublin, they knowingly underpay by at least 3 times vs the rest of the industry, but not sure if this is the same in the US, but it is likely. The marble system provides somewhat of a more transparent and equitable bonus system than I've been fortunate enough to get offers from Citadel, Citadel Securities and Optiver for an internship next summer.
